Good smells

Ever get a whiff of something and then you’re flooded with good feelings, maybe accompanied by some images? That’s what this thread is for, to record a good smell you got to have. Smells are free!

For example, yesterday I was walking in the morning; it was hot and cloudy. I got a whiff of cigarette smoke and something about that combined with the humidity transported me to my childhood. The blend of cigarette smoke, vanilla waffle cones, and the salty beach meant hours of discovery and enjoyment ahead.

Petrichor

John Varvatos Vintage cologne, brut, Jovon Musk, skin Bracer aftershave. All things I use daily to bring me back to earth. Also Hawaiian Tropic suntanning oil.

I love Petrichor( didn't know there was a word for that...thanks Friday)

92% of the good memories from my childhood? Involved Hawaiian Tropic! On 4 continents. Slathered in the stuff.

Isn't that the best Friday. Only problem I have with it is that the scent goes away so fast.

I love walking past guys like you! I breathe deeply.

My grandma's perfume. Hell if I know what it was. I almost never smell it now. But every once in awhile I do, and it's wonderful. I can smell it in my mind, which is almost as good.

Fresh baked cookies.

@Charbella have you tried Crumbl? I know they have a lot of hype but good for when you want to pamper yourself IMO. Warm and soft

I have and there are a few i like but I am a baked goods snob. I don’t do a lot of complex stuff but what I do is much tastier and you can make a batch of cookies for the cost of one of theirs. I know, if you have time. Although I have a few recipes you can freeze so I make a dozen and freeze the dough for later. Nothing better than fresh baked. Plus my whole house smells delightful.

I am with you in the baked goods snob category!! Simpler is so much more refined and yeah—the cost . I like to be in control, prob why I like cooking and baking!
